The Corduroy Brook trail was made in 1994. Mr. Scott James, then president of the Rotary Club, wanted to preserve a section of birch trees along Corduoy Brook. Meanwhile, Mr. Arthur King, then president of the Exploits Disability Association, wanted to make a venue that was accessible to disabled people. Both men found out about the other's wishes, and decided to form the Corduroy Brook Enhancement Association (CBEA) to make the trail and clean up the surrounding area.
